Catholic Reluctantly on the Pondering Catholic!

Wow! Check out this great review of John Paul 2 High Book One on "Just another Pondering Catholic..."

My favorite aspect of this book was the fact that, despite having “Catholic” in its title, this book would be great for ANY teen or young adult. There’s no “secret Catholic stuff” included - you don’t have to be a Catholic or even understand anything about the Catholic Church to enjoy this book. One of the main characters isn’t a practicing Catholic and isn’t very familiar with things Catholic, and when the kids at her new school mention things - such as the Divine Mercy Chaplet - she doesn’t understand. And though she does sometimes feel like an idiot, we readers get a natural explanation (and a reminder of just how hard it is to be a teen, and to feel like you don’t fit in) that’s not ponderous or overly cerebral. If you're an adult thinking about buying Catholic Reluctantly for your teen, you should read this one.

In other news, I send Book 2 off to the publishers last week! So if the editing process goes well, I hope you'll see the next exciting installment soon.

Regina, I didn't exaggerate at all in that review! Catholic, Reluctantly really reshaped the idea of teen/young adult fiction for me. (I've not been impressed by much of what I've read of that genre.) I can't wait to get my hands on that second book!!!

Blessings to you for all of your hard work as a Catholic author and editor!

I'm not sure if this is the place to ask this, but are all the old posts from before this was a blog online. I remember a while ago reading the novena to Chesterton and was wondering if that was still online. Thank you! Mary

Thanks so much Sarah!

Mary - for some reason, Blogger seems to have taken away lots of the older posts. I can't figure out how to fix it yet, but I'll see what I can do.

I'm just letting you know that I finished "Waking Rose" a minute ago, and right now all I can say is:

I'll post a review when I can express it in words! =)
